Tennessee and Boise State Infractions Hearings: Tidbits on the NCAA Committee on Infractions

The University of Tennessee and Boise State University are scheduled to appear before the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions this weekend. The Michael L. Buckner Law Firm provides the following tidbits on the committee:

Membership of the Committee on Infractions:
•Ten members (seven individuals from NCAA member institutions and three from the general public).
•Two members are non-voting members and represent the committee on matters appealed to the Division I Infractions Appeals Committee.

Division I Committee on Infractions determines:
•Findings.
•Penalties.

Committee on Infractions meets six times per year for two- or three-day meetings at various locations throughout the country.

Committee on Infractions receives and reviews:
•Notice of allegations.
•Case summary.
•Responses submitted by the institution and other involved parties
•Info submitted prior to 10-day deadline
•Evidence submitted at hearing (at committee’s discretion).
