How Many Football Fans Follow Your Favorite University?: A New York Times Analysis

Nate Silver of the New York Times authored an insightful blog post, “The Geography of College Football Fans (and Realignment Chaos)”, on September 19, 2011. According to the New York Times website, “the premise of the study is this: take the 210 television media markets in the United States, figure out how many college football fans they have, and then allocate them between the 120 current Football Bowl Subdivision programs.” Follow the link to review the article. You may not agree with the methodology, but it is an interesting read for college football fans.
