NCAA rules change will allow unlimited calls to certain recruits, beginning June 15
Takeaway: Beginning on June 15, 2012, men’s basketball coaches will be able to make unlimited phone calls and send unlimited text messages to prospective student-athletes who have completed their sophomore year of high school. Under the current system, coaches can only place one call per month to a a prospective student-athlete who completed his sophomore year one time per month.
Montana football program being probed
Takeaway: The University of Montana has confirmed an NCAA investigation into the school’s football program, which is already the subject of a U.S. Department of Education and Department of Justice probe regarding how the institution and the City of Missoula have responded to sexual assault and harassment reports by female students, with some complaints involving members of the football team.
