SI.com Reports NCAA visited University of Kentucky Freshman’s Prep School

On August 22, 2012, Pete Thamel of SI.com reported two NCAA enforcement staff members visited the Tilton School, which as the New Hampshire preparatory school attended by current Kentucky freshman men’s basketball student-athlete Nerlens Noel, in early August. The focus of the visit revolved around people associated with Noel’s recruitment and how Noel paid for his unofficial visits.

According to the report, this is the NCAA enforcement staff’s second trip to New England regarding Noel. One key aspect of this visit was the attendance of Kentucky associate athletic director Sandy Bell at the meeting, which is somewhat unusual for a routine check on the recruiting of a topic prospect.
