University of North Carolina Releases More Documents from NCAA Investigation

On November 5, 2012, the Herald Sun reported the University of North Carolina released more than 2,500 pages of information relating to the NCAA investigation of the institution’s football program. The institution had initially refused to release unredacted versions of the documents, however, Superior Court judge Howard E. Manning Jr. ordered that the school should make certain information public, including impermissible benefits received by football student-athletes. The court refused to allow unredcated versions of the documents pertaining to academic fraud to be released.
