Sports Illustrated.com’s Michael McCann authored a summary of the legal strategies the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling might pursue in the legal fight being pursued by Sterling. McCann’s article can be found by clicking here. If Sterling maintains the lawsuit (and does not reach a settlement with the involved parties), then a legal resolution may not occur in the short-term. However, a drawn-out legal case may not be a good thing for the NBA; although the league would ultimately prevail, the discovery process (during which Sterling would be able to depose NBA executives and owners and obtain documents from relevant parties) would probably expose embarrassing information that the league may not want public. It will be an interesting case no matter what happens from this point forward.
